Jackie Dunay highlights an easy way to contribute to worthy causes.
Our global environment is changing both financially and physically. So too should our outlook on activism. While we have become more conscious of little acts that contribute to making the world a better place (recycling, cutting our carbon footprint, etc), there are also other small actions that we can take to help effect other benefits. Really all it takes is the click of a mouse.
Charity has embraced many new fundraising efforts online. There are some very innovative new methods that charities, NGO’s and other aid organizations now use to generate operating funds.
My favorite new strategy is “click-to-donate” fundraising sites. With the help of click-to-donate programs, giving to charity is simple and effective. Think of click-to-donate sites as being a variation of advertiser supported web content. As an example, CNBC’s website generates revenue from eyeballs, as advertisers pay to reach their audience. Well click-to-donate charity sites operate in a similar way.
Click-to-donate sites are powered by compassion; the not-for-profit organization seeks sponsors who in turn donate a certain amount of money, goods, or services to the given cause depending on the amount of clicks from users. Some sites feature clickable word games or mini races, but for all, the goal is to generate enough clicks to truly make a difference.
Understanding cultural diversity, protecting our world, and ultimately finding peace –both inner and outer— these are the goals of EAST Tours’ brand of eco-tourism and sustainability. Our goal is to enhance life experiences through cultural understanding and communication. And so we’d like to bring you an assortment of click-to-donate fund raising sites. We’re not affiliated or endorsing these sites, but we thought you’d like to know what exists.
